Custom airsoft pistol box
A friend asked me to make a simple airsoft pistol case with a plush interior. I started looking in my workshop for the plywood and I could only find different color pieces of wood, so another idea came to my mind. I could re-purpose some other box, rather than buying a huge piece of plywood and doing everything from scratch.

The closest thing I could find was this tea box.

After ripping the inserts I started cutting the inserts to make a new layout.

The previous recesses were filled with thin pieces of wood and sanded afterwards.
There were lots of annoying recesses to be filled.

Next step was cutting this thick cardboard to make an upholstery panels.

For gluing the fabric I used super strong double sided tape that is usually used for gluing LCD screens on tablets and mobile phones.

After the first batch of upholstery the gluing of panels has begun, and the process continued until all the internal parts were finished.

Everything was furnished with the linseed oil to protect and highlight the wood grains.

Finished box without the fillings.

Line seed oil has really worked well and the finish looks great.

I also added lid retaining string and put the ammunition in one of those liqueur disposable plastic tubes to make it neat and tidy. Since the box was slightly larger than it supposed to be, I used that extra space and made two more pockets for additional magazines that will probably be bought in the future.

The first intention was to cover the glass either with some texture or logo, but I dropped the idea because this way it looks more exclusive. In general, after covering the recesses and battling with dimensions, I got only small gain over the building box from scratch.
But at the end of the project I am really satisfied how it turned out.
