Jmojis – emoji set design
After I quit my job few months ago, I had literally no idea what I’m going to do next, but somehow the projects started popping out. The unusual ones, of course. A friend of mine, who’s working in Novasoft LLC asked me if I’m interested in doing a couple of test illustrations for a celebrity emoji set. It turned out that this particular celebrity was an adult film star and a Playboy model Jesse Jane – I knew that the project will be a huge hit among my friends and will probably haunt me for ages, so I said yes. Celebrity emoji apps and keyboards have been the new trend for a past few years, so we decided to hop on that train too.
I was commissioned to make 50 of them. It seems a lot, but it really is not – if you’re running a rich digital life, like most of the people these days, then you should know that a regular smiling face is just not enough. Our visual dictionary expanded massively, so now you need the whole range of various emotions to emphasize your point correctly. You can even borrow a celebrity’s face, as a surrogate for your emotion or for just making a reference point.
We decided to go with some of her movie reference emojis, as well as suggestive ones, to spice things up a bit. And yes, it required some online research because we wanted them to be fully custom. Novasoft LLC did the graphic design and development of the app itself – be sure to check their other games and apps, too!
All in all – I’m pretty happy how Jmojis turned out. Now go on, download and pretend you need some of them for your grocery list
