Shadowzone (1990)

Movie Night

We watched another classic – Shadowzone.

Starring actors: Kai Winn from Star Trek DS9, Dr. Chew from Blade Runner (the guy that gets his heating pipes ripped out from his environmental suit, inside some cyborg ice lab), and some actress from various bikini themed films. She is naked throughout the entire movie, and kinda sleeping in a test chamber… but you can see everything, which is, along with accompanying monsters, very important for that type of movies.

What’s the movie about – the inspector comes to super secret underground government lab to determine the cause of death of one of the test subjects. The experiment is based on a sleep, deep sleep… something like in the movie Inception, only they go 30+ levels deeper (some research for future long-term intergalactic travel). The things get complicated when they dive too deep and their brain makes a connection with other dimension, then the monster pops out of a subject’s body, and like most monsters from the 80’s and 90’s movies, they just want to kill some people, and then after the killing spree, get back home to their dimension.

So, this is trashy, old fashioned film that is worth watching if you’re a fan of SF movies like me.
Of course, like most such films, it’s ideal for watching with the company, so you can laugh to stereotypical characters, funny effects, foolish decisions, etc…

I’m always happy to see prices at these old media… Someone payed 30$ for this on some sale.
