Tear it up festival 2017
Tear it up!! once again! For those who are not yet familiar with our blog, let me just say that we have two more posts on the theme of this festival, so if you want to check them out, you can find the 2015 edition on this link and 2016 on this one The only difference is that this time I didn’t have to bother nice people with cameras to let us use their photos on our blog, because we finally got ours! And yes, I’m still catching up with some features, and I definitely need better lens for people who dance at dark places, but this is certainly a huge step for humanity.
An introduction photo taken somewhere in Gorski kotar. This year we decided to take it easy, spend some more time on the beach and try not to burnout till Saturday like we usually do.
Of course we had to stop in Delnice to check out the deers. You cannot see them on this picture, because they were too busy being cute for some other people who brought them food.
Let me introduce you this year’s passengers – Marko the barber and his girlfriend Edina. Marko is running a very successful Polyboy barbershop in Zagreb, and Edina is a make up artist with a strong penchant for horror and special effects.
At the rest stop Bale.
When we arrived, the crew was already parked at the usual spot. There is something about these old cars, they are so vivid and exciting, yet simple, and you can’t compare them in any way to modern monovolume cars (which we call eggs). This year’s favorite is this red Ford Galaxie. I’ll just let you scroll through the gallery:
The Trashmobile…
…and a subtle Trash’n’Burn announcement 😉
These are our hillbilly roommates, Josip and Robi – you probably know them from some previous posts. We like having them with us because they take care of the music and supply Vedran with Piña Colada. We skipped the first night of the festival, so we’re starting here with Friday night!
Our Hungarian friends
Sara Dee & Foxhunters performing on the main square.
Sometimes I think they are watermarks, because they manage to insert themselves to almost every photo.
Saturday morning – guys found the place with the best ratio of temperature and breeze.
Marko Å imunović doing his thing. Vedran made this huge mirror for outdoor purposes, but it isn’t finished yet, we’re still waiting for the frame with cute coffin and cute skull illustrations to be done.
Guess who’s been busy welding…
Johnny Jean & Humdingers performing at the terrace Europa
Gangster’s Retro House
Edina and Medina – two gorgeous sisters from Belgium, who were doing the make up on the festival.
This is how Vedran prepares himself for the evening.
Looking good in Elly Prizeman’s fashion.
And this is what he looks like when you take away his Piña Colada. This is the only photo of the two of us together, he thinks he looks like a psycho, and I say that this is just a male version of resting bitch face, so it’s fine
Annita & the Starbombers
Roy Thompson & The Mellow Kings
After the concerts at the main square, we moved to the summer club Dali to hear The Orbitunes perform.
This is how the stage probably looked during the Sunday night party. We had to skip it because Vedran got an emergency business phone call, so instead of getting some vinyl souvenirs, we came home with just two pair of broken shoes. What can I say, Medulin does that to us Hope you enjoyed the photos, you can see the extended gallery on our Facebook page. See you next year!
