Our friends recently got married, so what started as a novelty gift, turned into a full-blown project of making totally inappropriate, yet most awesome wedding gift we ever made!

We wanted to give them something unpredictable and unconventional, not some boring stuff they won’t use, and since they’re little bit kinky, we decided to get them something from the adult store. But – that wouldn’t have a personal touch, so things kinda got out of hand and I started making everything from scratch.

After we bought all the material, the build has begun.

I cut out the artificial leather into strips.

I used a piece of cylindrical wooden stick for handle, and glued layers of strips in circular formation to make it neat.

Handle was wrapped and glued with wider piece of material.

Before full wrapping, the end plug was created and also glued to wooden stick.

For the box, I used a clean piece of 10 mm plywood because I wanted to use a clear coat.

After the glue has dried, I removed the residues and smoothed out the edges with sandpaper.

I used thick pieces of cardboard, cut to size to make plush inserts, so the box would look more exclusive when you look inside.

It took thirteen inserts that needed to be glued in place to make it complete.

Varnishing. In this case we used linseed oil because we wanted to create more natural feeling. After that we polished the whole box with furniture wax.

I should’ve probably painted the inserts before, but I was worried how the oil will react to glue, so I decided to protect it with crepe masking tape.

While I was cutting my fingers with a scalpel, I made a recess for the hinges. Or was it the other way round, anyway, the box got its top lid installed.
