VW Tuning Show Karlovac 2017
There were two car meetings during the same weekend – a mixed tuning show somewhere near Varaždin and the VW Tuning Show in Karlovac. My friend Boris and I took a gamble and gone to the VW meet, and were pleasantly surprised with the offer
An event entrance.
The beer case racer – not exactly sure when this became popular, but it sure is innovative and noticeable way of moving around at the larger car meets.
A rare sight, Golf Country. Btw. I’m looking for a pair of 15″ rims like the ones on the picture above.
Why? Because I have the same exact model of rims on my Capri, but need another pair to match the trailer.
I presume the second caliper is for the mechanical hand brake in order to be road legal.
Personal best at this show.
Wait. Isn’t that Audi 50? Or is it Polo MK1 with an Audi badge?
Vintage and wood grain feel.
There were a lot of cars with enormous brakes, and although they certainly look great, I kinda doubt that most of them have the same amount of power as the average Lamborghini.
Lupo or UP are at the top of my list for everyday driving.
Since I have started doing the upholstery, I notice nice work more frequently.
My choice of the VW.
There is something about the old cars that just works for me.
Nice interior. Even the beads work and give it a more warm and cozy feel. Just wish there wasn’t a (protective?) cardboard on the floor, everything would look so much better.
Risbo, my co traveler on this event, posing for the picture before we go and sample the local fast food cuisine.
Local air ride supplier, and a good one from what I heard.
Me during my ice-cream break.
At every bigger car meet there’s also a camp site.
This being one of the bigger car shows, had everything it should have, including the games for the visitors.
All in all it was a successful gamble, despite the fact that it was a VW specific, and probably filled with half of the new cars which are kinda soulless, at least for me. The whole meet was really nice, so we’re considering the camping next year. Thanks for reading!
